WTF IS A COMIX JAM?
How it works is that there will be several illustration boards (or maybe bristol boards) with panels drawn in them and some of these boards will have a panel filled in already and some will probably be just blank. So, at the start of the event all those boards/pages will be hanged/clipped on a wall where people can come and pick a board/page you want to draw in. They can take the page to a table work on a panel for a while then once they are done they can put it back into the wall and someone else can add to it and so forth! Each page can have its own short short story/plot depending on how people translate whats already there. The general idea is mostly to encourage and open people to the fun of making comics and sequential art -especially in working with others!
WHO CAN JOIN THE COMIX JAMS?
Most of the jams are open to everyone of all ages and all drawing skill levels. Everyone who comes out to the events are welcome to engage and collaborate in creating the comics pages.
However, on certain occasions, usually depending on the location or venue where the jams will be held, the age limits may vary.
There will also be special invite-only comix jams which focuses more on getting local artists and illustrators to collaborate together. These events may or may not be open to public participation but everything created will be shared here for public viewing.
WHO OWNS THE COMIX?
All comics made during the comix jams will belong to the public domain. We will scan the pages and post it on this site for others to see at the comfort of their computer monitors.
